This month, Seara is rolling out the SuperAgroTech platform, the world’s first benefits and business management ecosystem for integrated producers, which will benefit over 9,000 poultry and pig breeders that have exclusive supply agreements with the company and future partners. The platform will enable 100% digital management of battery farms. This means that the entire routine, reports and documentation will henceforth operate in the cloud, with adjustments to processes and saving time. The integrated producer will also enjoy an exclusive e-commerce for inputs and equipment, a communication channel, special credit terms and real-time monitoring of the battery farms.
Seara has created a structure dedicated to accelerating advances in the battery farms and to providing integrated producers with support in managing the resources of the business. The company has entered a partnership with Google Cloud, technology startups and financial institutions on exclusive terms. “We want to support our integrated producer with resources for him to make the best decisions and, consequently, be more profitable. The SuperAgroTech platform is a ground-breaking initiative that will assure our integrated producers of personalized service and multiple benefits”, says Rafael Sousa, executive officer for Technological Innovation at Seara.
An innovative methodology will enable integrated producers to enjoy further benefits within the ecosystem. The data to be used will consist of performance on the farm, credit potential on the market of each battery farm owner and socioenvironmental indicators such as the reduction in water consumption, energy efficiency and the disposal of waste, so as to create an overall score for the integrated producers – called Seara Score. The higher the score, the more credit facilities he will have access to, as well as discounts on an exclusive e-commerce available on the application for purchasing the items needed for running the battery farms: equipment, inputs and fuel. Financial and business management is already available to 100% of the integrated producers, via the application, following the launch of the platform.
“Every centavo the integrated producer saves in resources is money in his pocket, in addition to having a more sustainable battery farm. What we are going to do is support him with this intelligent management. This score may increase the access of the integrated producers to credit because it uses a methodology already approved by financial institutions, while also offering an analysis of socioenvironmental indicators increasingly held in high esteem by the market. Our company has robust expansion plans, and our integrated producers are a fundamental part of this objective, providing growth across the chain as a whole”, contends Sousa.
As part of the platform, a pilot IoT sensors project that uses “internet-of-things” technology is underway on the battery farms supplying the Forquilhinha (SC) and Montenegro (RS) Units. The sensors will enable real-time monitoring of the animals’ welfare using devices that provide information about the ambient temperature and humidity, air quality, weight and even behavior. Thanks to the system, which integrates connectivity and artificial intelligence, it will be possible to increase productivity, make more sustainable use of resources like water and energy, as well as enhancing biosafety by limiting the circulation of people within the battery farms. The integrated producers will also be more at liberty to monitor the battery farm remotely, ensuring good results and quality of life. The technology is expected to be installed in all battery farms by next year, and the data collected will create a base managing the entireCompany.
The officer for Livestock Farming Excellence at Seara, José Antonio Ribas, asserts that one of the major contributions of this project is the retention of young people on the land by making the activity more technological and interesting for the new generations. “We have families who hand this tradition down to their children, which means growth and the creation of jobs. This platform adds to our already existing initiatives for improving the quality of life of the integrated producers, the communication between the company and the partner and adding increasingly more value to work we do on the land by improving efficiency and aspects of sustainability”, concludes Ribas.
