JBS hands over the project that revitalized the ‘mini center’ of the Cauá Mission Hospital located in Dourados (MS)

The support center of the Mission Hospital had been decommissioned, and it will now support hospital medical services for cases of Covid-19 among the indigenous people; The action is part of the “Good Deeds Do Good – Feeding the World with Solidarity”.

This Wednesday (30th of December), JBS hands over to the city of Dourados (MS) the revitalization of the “Centrinho” (Mini Center) of the Caiuá Mission Hospital, the institution providing medical services to the local indigenous community. The new structure is yet another donation by JBS to the city as part of it social responsibility program, “Good Deeds Do Good – Feeding the World with Solidarity”.
With an investment of R$ 110,000, three infirmaries, a pharmacy, a deposit, a kitchen, shelters, restrooms and a laundry were revitalized. The donation also included replacing wood and substituting the roof lining; a revision of the water system, changing and installing pipework in bathrooms and the laundry; substitution of broken doors and windows; installation of fittings such as taps, and toilet flush boxes and seats; paintwork and sanitation of walls and floors. JBS did not only provide the materials, but also the labor and the entire structure required for revitalizing the building.
The “Centrinho” is a Caiuá Mission Hospital support facility. With 20 hospitalization beds, it will speed up the treatment of cases of Covid-19 among the indigenous people in the region. After the pandemic, the structure will be allocated for other services.
Since June, JBS has donated to Dourados: an ambulance; 75 infusion pumps; 60 clinical beds; 45 vital signs monitors; 15 ICU beds; 12 hospital stretchers for transportation; 10 ventilators, six electrocardiographs on trolleys; three cardioverters; over 200,000 sets of personal protective equipment (PPEs), such as aprons, procedure gloves, surgical and N95 masks, headdresses and face shields; and 20,000 fabric masks for distribution to the community.
Also in September, the Company handed over, following an investment of R$ 720,000, 11 infirmary beds and another isolation ward Medical First Aid Unit, or PAM, located in the Vila Industrial area. In addition to more than 180 m² of building work, the Company has equipped the unit with 12 beds with mattresses, seven air conditioning devices and a power generator.
Dourados is one of the more than 290 cities benefitting from the program in Brazil. In the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, JBS has donated R$ 21 million, of which R$ 10 million to the State and R$ 11 million to 16 municipalities located in the state, benefitting more than 1.5 million people.
