On yet another front of its social responsibility program, Good Deeds Are Good, JBS will donate 162 items of hospital equipment to enable 24 new ICU beds to be set up in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. The first items begin arriving this Thursday, April 1st. It will be the responsibility of the state health department to allocate the equipment locally, according to the level of criticality in each municipality.
The deliveries include 24 respirators, 24 ICU beds and 24 vital signs monitors, as well as 90 infusion pumps. The donations also consist of 150,000 pairs of gloves for procedures and 14,000 liters of liquid and gel alcohol delivered this week, as well as 190,000 N95 masks. All the items are essential for the teams working on the front line in the fight against the new coronavirus pandemic.
Since January, the Company has already scheduled the donation of 970 items of hospital equipment to fight the Covid-19 pandemic in Brazil, including three respirators that were delivered to the Hospital da Vida in Dourados on March 26th. In Mato Grosso do Sul, JBS has donated R$ 21 million, of which R$ 10 million to the State and R$ 11 million to 16 cities across the state, benefiting more than 1.5 million people.
