JBS and Flora donate over 6 tons of clothing, food and hygiene products to institutions in São Paulo

During the winter, JBSand Flora, companies of the J&F Group, are embarking on donating more than 6 tons of clothes, food and hygiene products to social assistance institutions in the city of São Paulo.

The action was part of the social responsibility program of JBS, Good Deeds Do Good – Feeding the World with Solidarity, which organized a Clothing Collection Campaign among the employees of the company’s 130+ team members. Flora, the consumer goods industry and owner of brands like Francis, Minuano and ASSIM, joined the initiative and repeated the dynamic at its nine units, collecting its employees’ donations.

According to the dynamic of the campaign, which ran from April to June, for every kilo of clothing or blankets collected among the employees the companies agreed to donate another kilo of product, either hygiene items or non-perishable food products. During the action, approximately 1 ton of clothing and blankets were collected in São Paulo city alone.

As a result, JBS donated 890 kg of clothing and 890 kg of non-perishable foodstuffs to the Franciscan Social Association (Sefras) and the People’s Charity & Community Association (ABCP) located in the capital. Flora donated over 140 kilos of clothing and 5 tons of ASSIM brands washing powder to the Central Única das Favelas (CUFA), the umbrella organization for local favelas.

“It is very gratifying to see our team members mobilizing in support of actions like this, which goes to show that teamwork really makes a difference and brings good to those that need it”, asserts Fernando Meller, human resources director of JBS Brazil .

For Nicole Mandil, marketing and sales director of ASSIM, the action helps bring solidarity and the brand’s proposal together. “To afford more people a warm winter and access to clothes laundered using quality and technology is fully aligned with what we believe in, which is why campaigns like this one are so important”, she concludes.
