JBS, one of the world’s largest food companies, resumed on Monday 17 the activities of the Friboi industrial plant located in the city of Juara (MT). The reopening of the unit will be responsible for the creation of 350 jobs. The number adds to the 1,450 new jobs that will be created with the recovery of the Diamantino plant (MT) and the 210 positions that were opened by the Confresa plant (MT) last week. As a result, the Company expects to create around 2,000 new jobs in Mato Grosso by the end of 2023.
The plant will start operations in a phased manner, processing 300 head at first, with gradual expansion expected until it reaches its maximum capacity. The plant has a processing capacity of 700 head of cattle and has a logistical location that guarantees access to major supplier regions. In addition, it is well located to address domestic demand and is qualified to serve important markets abroad.
“The reopening of our plant in Juara is further proof of Friboi’s commitment to our suppliers in the region and to the State of Mato Grosso. With this initiative, we will ensure adequate production capability locally, in addition to reinforcing our relevance as a creator of jobs and income in the state“, emphasizes Renato Costa, President of Friboi.
The investment to resume the Juara (MT) plant comes as a complement to the announcement made by the company at the end of June, with the relevant contribution for the recovery and modernization of the Diamantino (MT) plant, which will be the largest in the country. “It is further proof of how strategic the region is for Friboi and our willingness to continue contributing to local economic development,” says Renato.
Currently, JBS is responsible for creating more than 9,500 direct jobs in Mato Grosso. When all the announced investments are in place and the renovation of the Diamantino plant is completed, the expectation is that this number will increase to around 11,500 direct jobs created by JBS in the state.
In recent days, the company has already held test events and meetings in the region, with all newly hired employees, in order to fine-tune the resumption of operations at the Juara plant. They start work immediately. Friboi has also negotiated the first schedules with regional producers or delivery of animals in this first week of resumption of activities.
