JBS Couros, global processing leader in the sector, is showcasing new articles during the Lineapelle International Trade Show in Milan, between February 22 and 24. On the stand of Conceria Priante, the unit of JBS Couros in Italy, the public can get a close look at the new colors from Kind Leather, the most sustainable leather on the market, while also becoming familiar with the new Talasi, Romance and Phyll leathers.

Talasi and Romance are produced in Kind Leather in a sustainable crust (lower water consumption) base, where the principle is the optimization of resources during processing and the forwarding of waste to treatment stations. Using a more efficient and innovative production process, Kind Leather offers industry and society a series of important environmental, social and economic benefits through the intelligent use of raw materials and resources, traceability, sustainable origin and eco-efficiency.

At the start of the Kind Leather production process, the parts of the leather that are little utilized are removed and forwarded to other Group business units for use as raw materials in applications intended for the pharmaceutical and food industries. In this manner, the proper disposal of the waste strengthens sustainability across the entire value chain.

Another product of JBS Couros present at Lineapelle, Phyll has been developed without using chrome in the tanning process (chrome-free) and is intended for footwear with sustainable finishing and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Also on the stand of Conceria Priante, the brand will introduce its international clients to the partnership with the Brazilian NGO Orientavida, which provides skills to socially vulnerable women in the city of Potim (SP).

“The expectation is that Lineapelle points to the trends in the leather market, especially for footwear and artifacts. JBS Couros competes in this market primarily through Conceria Priante, which functions as a research center and development center for our finished leathers. Our focus by participating in the event is to interact with designers of the world’s most important brands. By bringing up the partnership with Orientavida, we also want to highlight our concern not only with the environment, but also with the social pillar”, points out Cezar Gernhardt, Global Sales Officer of JBS Couros.

Lineapelle is the most important international exhibition dedicated to leather, accessories, components, synthetics and models for footwear, leather goods, clothing and furniture. From its first edition in 1981, the event takes place twice a year: in February, for the summer collections, and September, for the winter collections. The trade show is held at the Milan Exhibitions Center.
